Dearest Lord Jesus,
We fail in our feeble attempts to be intentional Christian grandparents. We give “urgent matters” priority over the important things in life. We fail to pray for our grandchildren and their parents. We forget to share our faith stories when opportunities arise. We stumble in our efforts to model Christ-like behavior. We forget to impress upon our grandchildren the depth of God’s love. Forgive us when, in our attempt to be intentional Christian grandparents, we fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
We praise you that your grace is sufficient; your power is made perfect in our weakness” (II Corinthians 12:9). While we fail in our earthly attempts, we “can do all things through you, who strengthens us” (Philippians 4:13). Today, we recommit ourselves as intentional Christian grandparents.
In your precious Name,
Amen.
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty” (Zacharias 4:6).
