Heavenly Father,

We pray our grandchildren learn to battle effectually in the spiritual realm. Let them “put on the whole armor of God, so they may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11, paraphrased).

We pray they gird themselves with Christ’s belt of Truth, so they can distinguish right from wrong. Let them buckle on His breastplate of righteousness and helmet of salvation, so their hearts and minds are guarded from the depravity of this world. Let them put on His shoes, which will enable them to stand firmly for the Gospel of Peace.

And last but not least, let them take up His shield of faith and “the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication” (Ephesians 6:17-18).

In Christ’ Name, we pray.

Amen.
