Heavenly Father,

Please don’t let our precious grandchildren grow up to become people-pleasers. Don’t let them crave the acceptance, affirmation or accolades of their family, classmates or friends. Don’t let them become overly concerned about their appearance, performance or status in an attempt to earn the approval of others. Don’t let them be enslaved by the fear of rejection.

Instead, let them “walk as children of light… and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:8-10). For then, and only then, will our grandchildren know the true meaning of freedom.

In Christ’s Name, we pray.

Amen.
