Heavenly Father,

We live in a culture, which encourages our grandchildren to be self-absorbed and self-centered, seeking instant gratification for their whims and desires. We see this during the holiday season, especially.

We pray that our grandchildren are not “conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewal of their minds” (Romans 12:2). Draw their hearts and minds from the world view of Christmas, namely marketing and commercialism, to the wonder and joy of that first Christmas morn. Let them, like the shepherds, gaze into Jesus’ manger and behold the greatest Gift of all.

In Christ’s Name, we pray.

Amen.
