Heavenly Father,
We pray that we exhibit the fruit of Holy Spirit during this time of uncertainty.
We pray that we exhibit the fruit of PATIENCE. Help us not to grumble and complain like the Israelites did as they passed through the wilderness.
We pray that we exhibit the fruit of PEACE. Help us not to be consumed and enslaved to fear as we face the unknown elements of this epidemic.
We pray that we exhibit the fruit of GENTLENESS. Let us be a source of encouragement to one another, reminding each other that we can get through these times with the help of the Lord.
We pray that we exhibit the fruit of SELF-CONTROL. Let us think of our neighbors before ourselves and resist the urge to hoard supplies, especially milk and toilet paper.
We pray that we exhibit the fruit of KINDNESS. Help us to watch our words before we criticize our spouses, children and grandchildren. After all, we’re probably going to go a little bit “stir crazy” the next few weeks.
We pray that we exhibit the fruit of GOODNESS. Help us to remember to check-in with those who live alone, to provide groceries for those who are financially strapped and to be considerate of those who are considered high risk.
We pray that we exhibit the fruit of FAITH. Let us be assured that “the Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble” (Nahum 1:7).
We pray that we exhibit the fruit of JOY. Let us see the silver linings (like renewed family-time) as we endure these trials and tribulations.
We pray that we exhibit the fruit of LOVE… for “love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (I Corinthians 13:7). And unlike this time of uncertainty, “love never ends” (I Corinthians 13:8).
In Christ’s Name, we pray.
Amen.
