Heavenly Father,
We have seldom, if ever, experienced an upheaval like the one being caused by the coronavirus. As grandparents, we can’t help but fret about our loved ones. We confess that we are worried about our own safety, as well.
We pray You place a holy hedge of protection around each of us. Please hem (us) in, behind and before, and lay Your hand upon (us)” (Psalm 139:5). Shield us from being exposed to the virus, especially when we leave our homes, either to make a trip to the grocery store or our workplace. Give us discernment about when it is necessary to go out and when it’s wiser for us to remain home.
We pray for Your mercy, for You are our refuge and our dwelling place. Your Presence enfolds us. Please rid our land of this “deadly pestilence” (Psalm 91:3). And remind us that while “weeping may tarry for the night, joy comes with the morning” (Psalm 30:5).
In Christ’s Name, we pray.
Amen.

Today is Palm Sunday followed by Holy Week. Let’s set our minds on Jesus sufferings and glorify Him each day. When we keep our minds on Jesus we have His peace.
Good morning, Diane. I want to thank you for commenting on this prayer. Your words ring true! I am reminded of Peter walked toward Jesus on top of the waves. Peter didn’t begin to sink until he took his eyes off the Lord. I hope you celebrated a beautiful Easter, despite the coronavirus lockdown. God bless you. Thank you, again, for commenting. (Sherry)
