We ache for every grandmother who had an abortion or encouraged her daughter to have one. We cry for every grandmother who tried to stop an abortion but was unsuccessful.
We know that many of these women, if not all, grieve silently and suffer from unremitting guilt and shame. They don’t need our judgement; they need our understanding and prayers.
Please heal them, Lord. Shine the light from Your love into their darkness. Release them from their yoke of bondage, bind up their broken hearts and wipe the tears from their eyes.
“Bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair” (Isaiah 61:3, NIV).
In Your Precious Name, we pray.
