Abba Father,

We pray on behalf of our fellow grandparents, who live throughout the world. We realize that we are as different and diverse as the miles, which separate us.

We pray for the grandparents who grieve over the birth of a new grandchild, because its means there is another mouth to feed.

We pray for the grandparents who are watching their grandchildren grow up in refugee camps.

We pray for the grandparents who have lost grandchildren to AIDS, opioids or the sex slave trade.

We pray for the grandparents who wonder if their faith in Jesus will prove costly to their families.

We pray for the grandparents who live with a false sense of security, unaware of the spiritual battle occurring outside their door.

We pray You restore the hope and renew the strength of grandparents throughout the world. “Let them mount up with wings like eagles; let them run and not be weary; let them walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

In Jesus’ Name, we pray.

Amen.
